WTF is Thundercat Racing?

Referred to as ThunderCat Racing globally, Superlight Tunnel Boat races stand out as unique events within the APBA. These races feature catamaran-style inflatable boats that excel in navigating rough waters inaccessible to other categories. If you crave excitement with impressive aerial displays and daring maneuvers, look no further. Each boat in this series is manned by a designated driver and co-driver, with the driver controlling throttle and steering while the co-driver adjusts their weight to maintain stability. Experience the thrill - Race SLT.

All Superlight classes (Bandit, Outlaw, and Experimental Class) will be available at every Superlight Tunnel Boat event. While classes may compete simultaneously, they will be scored separately.

Thundercat Racing delivers a rush of adrenaline, featuring intense surf racing filled with dynamic jumps and explosive waves. A Thundercat comprises a four-meter inflatable catamaran powered by a 50-horsepower outboard motor.

In the race, a two-person team operates the boat: the driver manages steering and power, while the co-driver skillfully adjusts their weight to maintain boat balance. Though it may seem straightforward, these actions occur at speeds reaching up to 60 mph and subject to potential forces of up to 3g when navigating turns around the course markers.
